From the back cover:
Dr. Pete Harding Doesn’t Date Single Moms
No matter how lovely Keira Noble’s smile, or how adorable her four-year-old son. He’s been down that road before and knows it can lead to a broken heart. But that doesn’t mean he can’t help the pretty widow find a puppy to put under the Christmas tree for her son . . . .
Pete claims he only wants to help her find the perfect gift for Cody. Yet Keira can’t deny the tender feelings in his eyes whenever he looks at her. Could this handsome Scrooge have a change of heart, and create a new family for Christmas?
An interview with the author:
Hi, Kimberly! Welcome to my blog. Tell us more about your debut novel. How did you come up with the storyline for The Christmas Promise?
Hi Sherry, thanks for having me! I wanted to write a sweet romance and thought what better place to have a Christmas story than Leavenworth, WA. I hopped on a train with my mom and went there to get the feel of the town and do research. We spent the first day wandering around the village and the story began to form.
What inspired you to become a writer?
I love to read! One day out of the blue I decided I wanted write too. I chewed on the idea for at least a year before doing anything about it and then one day just started writing. I studied the craft and worked with critique partners for five or six years until I was offered a contract.
LOL I’m still studying the craft and still working with critique partners, but now I’m writing with a purpose and not just writing to be writing.
What would you consider your biggest challenge as a writer of inspirational romance?
For me it’s weaving in a spiritual element without being preachy. Oh, and then there’s the romance thing. LOL You wouldn’t think that would challenge me, but it does.
If you could cast Dr. Pete Harding and Keira Noble in a movie, whom would you choose? What about Keira’s son Cody?
Oh, Sherry, this question gets me every time I’m asked. I never know how to answer this. You’ve read the story, any ideas?
Hmm, maybe Patrick Dempsey and Scarlett Johansson. They’d make a striking pair! Describe Leavenworth, the town where the story is set.
Leavenworth is a former logging town turned Bavarian village nestled in the eastern slope of the Cascade mountain range.
All the storefronts look like they should be in Germany. The town holds festivals virtually every weekend, and in December they have a very popular lighting festival that draws thousands of tourists. It’s really a beautiful sight!
I’d like to visit Leavensworth. Sounds heavenly this time of year. What do you hope readers take away from your story?
I hope readers will see how with God’s help we can overcome the bad stuff. I also hope they find the story satisfying and have a smile on their face when the book is finished. To me there is nothing like a book that puts a smile on your face.
I like a happy ending too. Do you have another book coming out in the near future?
Yes! A Romance Rekindled, book two in this series comes out in June 2014. Then watch for book three in October—I don’t have the official title for that one yet.
Great, I look forward to reading them. Besides writing, what do you enjoy doing?
I love taking long walks with my husband and our yellow lab. I enjoy reading, talking with friends online and I really enjoy the occasional lunch out with friends.
We have a black Lab. They’re great dogs. For fun, what is your favorite snack?
Right now my favorite snack is a Chai Tea Latte that I make with my Verismo machine I got for Christmas last year.
Sounds delicious. Thank you so much for visiting with us today!
Thanks, Sherry. It was fun.

Liking the story line would love to win. One of my favorite Christmas songs is Mary’s boy child.
I’ve noticed that Mary’s Boy Child is a popular song. I’m going to have to look it up. LOL If I tell myself enough, I might actually do it. 🙂

Hey, Melissa it’s great to see you here! I hope you enjoy the book. 🙂
I love so many Christmas songs. One of my favorites is “Mary Did You Know?” I only know the Amy Grant version but I’m not sure she originally sang it. Thank you for this opportunity and the great interview.

Great post, Sherry. Congratulations to you, Kimberly. It sounds like a sweet story. O Holy Night is my favorite. The chorus gets me every single time I sing it!

Oh you so know I want to read this book … My very favorite song is ” Let there be Peace on Earth ” by Vince Gill and his daughter. It is so peaceful and speaks of truly what God wants us to be like and what he wants us to do.
Blessings
