Holly Miller is Steering Clear Of Mistletoe

Just out of nursing school, Holly can’t risk any distractions. She knows a slipup could cost a life. Like the mistake she made years ago that still plagues her conscience. When she runs into old high school friend Matthew Cook, she hesitates to let romance into her life. Even if the handsome baker is as delectable as his fabulous pastries.

“His faithfulness continues through all generations.”

~ Psalm 100:5

 *******************************

She didn’t notice him back in high school, but things have sure changed. Now that Matthew has Holly’s attention, maybe the holiday season is the perfect itme for him to show her that she deserves to have it all—work, family, friends and a love that lasts a lifetime.

An interview with author Kimberly Rose Johnson:

Finish this sentence. Inspirational fiction is . . .

Fiction that comes from a Christian worldview. I find it impossible to leave the Lord out of my books.

What’s your favorite scene in A Holiday Proposal?

That is a tough question. I really enjoyed this book, so several are jumping out at me, but one in particular warms my heart. Holly reaches out to a woman who is down and out traveling through town. It has nothing to do with the romance aspect of the story, but I think it’s special.

Are you anything like Holly Miller, your main character? If you could cast her in a movie, whom would you choose?

I think the only thing Holly and I have in common is low blood sugar. I’ve experienced first hand the things Holly went through when her blood sugar drops.

I’m not familiar with this actress, but when I ran a search for red headed actresses this lady popped up—Bridget Regan. I think she really looks like I imagine Holly.

Describe Matthew Cook. What actor would you hire to play him?

Matthew is a hard working guy, who loves his family. Every time I’m asked whom I would cast to play him I come up with someone different. I generally don’t choose actors or actresses to represent my characters in my head as I write, but I’m starting to now because of this exact question. LOL I now on occasion write an actors name into the book, just so I don’t have this problem when I do blog interview. J I’ll go with Chris Hemsworth this time.

What do you want your readers to take away from this novel?

I think we all face challenges in life whether relational, financial or job related and through it all we can turn to the Lord to help us. He may put a strategic person in our path to help us figure out something, or He may use us to bless another person or…. I don’t want to put limits on God. J In A Holiday Proposal, we see Elsa and Holly help one another with difficulties they each face and it’s all because Holly had the courage to reach out to a lonely traveler.

Do you have another novel in the works? Tell us about it.

My next novel to release is the last book in the series, A Match for Meghan, which will be available in January. I LOVED writing this story. Meghan cracks me up. She was a very fun character to write. She’s imperfect in so many ways, yet completely loveable. Here’s the back cover blurb.

MEGHAN BLACK HAS FINALLY MET HER MATCH

The veterinary assistant never backs down from a dare…and what greater challenge than finding die-hard bachelor Ben Young his ideal mate? But what’s an incurable cupid to do when the handsome vet turns the tables and asks her out?

Ben is perfectly content with his single life. And he figures there’s only one way to get the petite dynamo to quit her matchmaking—date her himself! But his plan backfires when he realizes that Meghan could be The One. Can he convince a woman who believes in happy endings for everyone but herself that he’s her Mr. Right?

For fun, what do you like to snack on while you write?

I like cookies. For a short time I actually kept a cookie container on my desk. I decided that was a bad idea and no longer have it there. J
