I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend with family and friends!
Can you believe it’s September? Time to buy new pencils, notebooks, pens, and all that fun stuff. But before you run off, here’s a little peek at what’s been happening…
Family picture at Mount Hermon where my older daughter worked at Daycamp this summer.
My kids are all grown! Yikes, how did that happen? Our youngest turned 18 in August. This fall, all four “kids” will be home working and/or going to school. Next week (hopefully), my office addition will begin. I need my own space!
Yes, this happened!
A couple of weeks ago, I attended the Oregon Christian Writers Conference and won a Cascade Award for my middle grade book, Love, Lexi: Letters to God. This makes me smile because I love Lexi and this fiction/devo was a BLAST to write!
While I was waiting at the airport for my return flight, I gave a signed copy to Olivia, a girl waiting with her family for their return trip to Manchester, England. As they stood to go to their gate, she turned to me and said, “I love it already!” Has the 8-13 year old girl in your life read Love, Lexi: Letters to God? If so, contact me and let me know!
I promised to tell you when the audiobook for Road to Harmony (a historical romance set in Harmony Valley, CA in 1907) is available! You can listen to a sample of Diane Lehman’s voice at the above link or here. Out of all the voices I listened to, Diane’s captured me the most. And guess what? She has different voices for different characters. I love when a narrator does that, don’t you?
I can’t ignore what’s been going on different parts of the country–hurricanes, fires, and social unrest. It’s the perfect time for us to dig into God’s Word and cling to his promises! I’m doing exactly that as I search for 365 verses for the kids’ devotional I’m writing for Zondervan. Here’s one of my favorites:
So do not be afraid. I am with you. Do not be terrified. I am your God. I will make you strong and help you. I will hold you safe in my hands. I always do what is right. Isaiah 41:10 (NIrV)
Blessings,
